Chapter 1025: Rumbling
Chapter 1025: Rumbling
Isbert looked forward from her throne, her eyes blinking twice as she lifted her head. "He's coming." She mumbled and the dragon maids could immediately feel a faint tremor from deep underground. Soon, a powerful earthquake hit, rocking the whole castle.
That unknown magic wasn't that of a normal being, twisted and terrifying, eldritch magic of the abomination, and a powerful one at that.
Confused and terrified, the dragon maids started running everywhere when they detected the massive magical signal approaching from the depths of the world. Isbert remained sitting on her throne and looked toward Isdis, who had fallen to the ground from the violent shaking, seeing the faint yet powerful barrier surrounding her. The maids were too distracted by the earthquake and magic wave to notice the change around Isdis.
The abominable eldritch magic had already faded quite a bit and was now replaced with a rabid wave of earth magic. This wasn't a normal abomination, it was something worse than that.
"Calm down, he mistakenly teleported underground and is now digging his way up." Isbert called the maids and they stopped scrambling like terrified hens, but she couldn't blame them, the aura coming from the ground wasn't normal.
The floor of the throne room cracked, opening into a massive ravine as a gust of burning hot air burst out and started melting ice walls and floor. Mist and vapor quickly filled the room, obstructing vision just enough to make it difficult to see details, but enough for them to get a rough idea of what was happening.
A stone pedestal emerged from the ravine, carrying the silhouette of a large and muscular humanoid sitting on it. The dragon maids could see him, while Isbert found it hard to see him, only catching a faint glimpse of his glowing purple eyes.
The dragon maids felt him and sensed the immense pressure exploding out of his body. The humanoid's flesh sparked and writhed invisibly with power and heat. He was a dragon, and they knew it.
Arad slowly stood, leaning forward, and looked at Isbert for a second before shifting his gaze at Isdis. He jumped down, landing on the tips of his toes, and all the maid couldn't look anywhere else but at him. The size, the magic, the aura; they couldn't avert their eyes for a second as they feared just that would be enough for him to rip them apart.
What do you think?
